Can anyone please tell me what this means on start up?

"CMOS Bad checksum"

Also what, if anything, I can do to fix it?

I've never seen that. Chances are your CMOS is fucked though. Which is bad. Not sure what to do to fix it. :\

It could be the CMOS battery going dead, which I think is common in old computers. If it is, I don't think there is much you can do, other than replacing the battery. If it's just an error, there might be a way to reset the battery, but that depends on what you have.

In the mean time, you can look this page and see if what you can do. I hope you know what the BIOS is, otherwise that explanation will be hard to follow.

Chances are you're right, it's generally a battery thing. You could also try flashing the bios, but if the battery's bad, you'll get the same error. You could also try just going into bios and saving again.
