Beating a dead horse

So after a long, hard realization that I never finished meme's from two years ago I decided to try and finish them just to label them as completed. Bear with me as I go through a few questions. A lot has changed in two years so who knows what glorious imaginings my brain will envision for these questions. Here we go

I'm sort of same way - book endings don't surprise me, but I have been surprised by some plot twists. I thought this person was who they were claiming to be and then chapters later they're revealed to be entirely somebody else. Type of things like that have surprised me and actually encouraged me to continue reading. I try my hardest to read all books to their conclusions. I think the only book(s) that I just can't seem to get through are: the Twilight series (I've read the first one completely, but stopped because I can't identify with the first-person narration from Bella) and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

There are some books I decide not to finish and they both, oddly enough, have to do with Forgotten Realms. Forgotten Realms has a wonderful way of being 50/50 with their authors. Most authors are average at best and few are actually exceptional. Both times were just that the book was so awful with terrible characterization that I just couldn't do it
