I completely ditched LJ for like 4 months or whatever, so we haven't talked in ages ;_; I hope you remember me! Add, please? :D

Also, I don't even know if you remember recommending Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close to me, but I read them both in May and ashjfdkhaskjl they are such amazing books. Both are definitely in my favorite book list now. Thank you sooo much for the recommendations!

I remember recommending those books to you indeed. I am very pleased that you liked them! You are quite welcome for the recommendations; it makes my heart joyful to know something I have recommended has been regarded in favor. I have yet to watch the movie that has apparently come out of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close but I'll have to venture out to see it eventually when it is out on dvd.

Yeah, LJ is so quiet lately... makes me a bit sad :(

I haven't heard that much about the movie, so I'm assuming that it didn't do too well. I'll probably end up renting it too. I'm curious to see how they adapted such a symbolic and complex story into a movie. The kid they casted for Oskar is pretty much exactly how I imagined him to be, so that's a plus! He seems like a pretty good actor too.

It does make me sad. Yes, livejournal is making changes, but in my opinion they are not as bad as everyone hypes. I have already gotten use to the new commenting system. It is in the past, no matter. Yes, I prefer the old commenting system but it is not going to bring it back by complaining. Ah well that was my tirade for the day.

I have not either, but it could still be good. Some movies are hyped up because they are good for a reason and others are less well known and could be just as good. I believe a lot of the problem is that when it came out there were many other movies people were more excited to see and therefore (whether a good movie or not) it was set aside for more anticipated features. I hope they capture the book's emotion well. I imagined him slightly different but not that far away from the boy depicted. I wouldn't know but we'll find out eventually!
