I'm waiting for Merlin 2x08 to load and it's rather boring. Even having my new-and-first Imogen Heap album on repeat is not helping. Okay, maybe it is a little. (Side note: I stumbled onto a fanmix for Arthur that had an Imogen Heap song that I'd been sort of relating to him and M/A. I felt awesome by association.)
So I've decided to catalogue

For your first point, I was under the impressions that Ygraine thought Uther knew and was putting Camelot before her. Even though Uther said he would've rather had Ygraine over Arthur in 1.09. Remember the lady died moments after childbirth. She must've thought that Uther had sacrificed her in the name of having an heir. So basically, I'm thinking that Ygraine died with all that bitterness. Whereas, over the years since her death, perhaps Uther has built up her image in his mind as so much more than what she really is.
Anyway, now I've got this horrible sense of Ygraine never having loved Uther quite as much as Uther loved her.
So maybe I should read the entire post before attempting to respond to it.
So yeah, you seriously are Uther's bitch. Let me be your voice of reason. =P
Go read thisissirius' reaction post. And coda. All I know is ARTHURMERLINARTHUR ( ... )

Working out Uther's huge sacrifice and betrayal might've been beyond her just then. Which then leads me to think that Ygraine's been wandering around, not at rest, fixated on the moment of her death and the perception of Uther's betrayal. Which then makes me realise I AM ANALYSING THIS SHOW WAY TOO MUCH ( ... )

That was an amazing journey through snapshots of Ygraine's relationship with Uther. But those last two lines, really made you feel for her and broke my heart just a little.

Remember that it was King Henry the whatever who made the rules bend for him and let him take another wife while the first one was still alive. So let him legally divorce the first one in the eyes of the law and God. He's well after Uther's time.
Once Uther married Ygraine, he had to have an heir with her and no other. Some bastard child with a mistress or otherwise would either disgrace the mistress or the Pendragon... dynasty.
I'm being as historically accurate as the show, hah. Please don't judge me on my lack of knowledge, since I can't figure out how much I've gleamed from fanfic and how much I've actually "learned" from somewhere.
