Blast from the past - Chanakya

This time I was catching up on Chanakya, the Doordarshan series originally aired in 1991. During that time, I was about 11 years old and could not comprehend the entire story. I was not able to judge the strength of the people during that time, the characters, the political situation and the issues then.

Yes, I know that. He is a senapati or the like in the kingdom of Dhanananda who finally joins Chanakya. :).
I have not come to that episode yet. I am in the episode wherein Chanakya is still making plans to invade Magadha.

चाणक्य तक्षशिला विश्‍वविद्यालय में अर्थशास्त्र के प्राध्यापक थे.

Even I had not understood it when I was in 6th standard. Now, you can watch it. You will really enjoy it. But some might find it a little tedious because the language used is very pure and 'bookish' hindi along with Sanskrit in between.

Is it being replayed in DD?
The only thing I remembered back then was that it looked like a well made serial. I especially remember the scene when a young Chanakya leaves Magadha. He looks back (at his mother's house I think) and the image is blurred because of his tears.
But very nice blog. I've been meaning to catch it again.
