No, it is more like the world threw a glance at the problem and went "Oh! you got hit too, I thought you were friends with 'em".

I can understand our great leader being a cowboy, what I can't understand is a labor dude following him.

Labor dude studied his history. His damned country started and created many messes around the world, but that area was the most recent big one. Someone needed to stir the pot. And war is a great economy booster.
