Hampi

This had me almost literally drooling. I have been to Hampi before but it was a hurried trip. I remember being ushered along from monument to monument and finding myself on the bus back home before I had any time to process what I had seen. It is a special place .... every place in India has human history attached to it, but when you see a place where the original stones (from ~600 years ago) still stand to tell their stories, one cant help but feel drawn in. Its like a tangible peice of history, and its scale makes it unique.

Photos are marvellous. Would love to travel there with you. My parents have visited and I, like you, have seen the basic sights and left unsatisfied. One problem for me is not knowing Kannada. I may try to remedy that sometime...

Travelling with me will definitely be a quick remedy to not knowing Kannada :) I can see us going there together someday.
