How much money do you make if you give stories away for free?

Pretty interesting...
I actually thought maybe a few more of the buyers would have paid a little bit rather than nothing. But personally, if was to buy an e-book I would want to reward the writer so much for giving me that benefit of the doubt, that I might "over-pay" the first couple of times. Especially on a short, cheap book because then it's just small change. After that I suspect I'd mostly stay somewhere just below the regular asking prize. That's my theory.

I have no idea what goes on in buyer's minds, but I think that is valid - getting something for "free" or having the choice in itself seems to engender good will. I'm totally intrigued by this, and we made about $40 on this already.
