Sometimes despite our best efforts at communication, we fail to transmit more signal than noise. Our data get lost. Our ideas don't bridge the gap between minds. The cool part is that, as a species, our least communicative relatives died out so that we have evolved what we think of as a pretty sophisticated set of signals for moving information ( Read more... )

Hahaha. A lot of those final lines aren't my own words. They're just bits of language that get stuck in my brain. I guess this means you made it into my brain.

Same old stuff -- doing the game programming thing, studying Brazilian jiujitsu. What have you been up to lately?

I'm making educational flash movies for math books used by homeschoolers. It isn't the most fulfilling thing, but it mostly pays the bills. Been doing lots and lots of kung fu and tai chi.

Probably going to rescue a cat this weekend.
