Recipes / Sipulipannari

It may look like I got bored of posting my tested recipes after the three or four times I did, but I've been planning to share more, especially since I started cooking stuff I actually like! Still in Finnish, although I'm beginning to think it wouldn't be that hard to translate. It's just the g/oz and other ways of measuring that make it ( Read more... )

Kannattaa koittaa! Ja voit vihjata että sipuli maistuu tässä tavarassa harvinaisen vähän sipulilta. Itekin pidän sipuleista vaan tietyissä muodoissa ja niihin kyllästyy helposti, mutta tätä söisin millon vaan (:

I need to ask: Does that mean onion pancakes & potato pancakes or onion & potato pancakes? Either way, sounds nourishing and tasty!

Vaikuttaapa herkulliselta. Täytyy itsekin kokeilla tuota jossain välissä. Meillä kumpikin tykkää sipulista joten varmaan tekee kauppansa.

Tuli viikonloppuna kokeiltua ja maukasta tuli. Käytin tosin punasipulin sijasta tavallista ja onnistui mukavasti. Lisäksi jätin hiivaleipäjauhot pois ja laitoin taikinaan 4 dl vehnäjauhoja. Ajattelin kokeilla seuraavaksi sellaista versiota johon tulisi vaikkapa sipulia ja herkkusieniä.

I'm so lazy and hopeless with cooking ;P

I'm also lazy as can be, but cooking really just requires an open mind and/or the ability to follow instructions. Though who am I fooling, I do it for the taste! : D

Sorry for the random inquiry, there's only a few things I am having trouble translating (I'd love to try this recipe!) -
balsamietikkaa (is that balsamic vinegar?)
juustoraastetta = cheese?

Mix dough and let it rise for 1/2 hour, dice/cook onions in oil until soft, add spices. Then what with the dough? Pour batter ---?
Spread onion mix on dough and sprinkle with cheese, cook at 225 for 30 mins.

Thank you preemptively for your help, sorry about the pestering! :)

Yes, that's balsamic vinegar, and juustoraaste is grated cheese.

When the onion mixture is done, let it cool. Pour batter on a sheet pan (I think the liner used on those is called parchment paper, am I right? Preferable to use one here, too).

Hope I could help! The recipe is definitely worth trying. Do you actually speak Finnish or did you use an online translator of some sort? I'm not sure if orzel ever mentioned you studying or speaking Finnish, but then again I also have a bad memory. (:

Awesome, thank you! I will have to give this a try soon. :)
I just picked apart the words using google - I don't speak Finnish but I do know a few words of it - I'm part Saami and I'd love to learn that language as well (and visit Finland sometime!). I don't have a gift for languages, though, I am a relatively slow learner. My husband is Czech and I'm trying to learn that right now. Slowly, but surely!

Smart! There you have a few challenging languages... For a Finn I know awfully little about Saami, but perhaps one day. (: If Czech is anything like Polish, I believe you won't object if I wish you good luck with it!
