Silver has been interesting and while I could go on and on about the theories of playing a Silver (as I have played four different ones before), I'm curious first what canon as well as what canon point he's from, for clarity, before I get into it.

Namely because GSC Silver and HGSS Silver are both remarkably different characters, and I'm curious which one you're taking a bigger portion of his base character from.

The bigger portion of personality comes from GSC, primarily as that is the version I fell in love with, but I also use a lot in HGSS as I feel that it does help flesh him out and make him a bit more 3D. HGSS is the canon, given that I do use the Celebi event. I admit that I really need to find my copy of pokemon Silver and replay that one more than I do HGSS.

The canon point is smack bang from the middle of his Mahogany fight, which was alluded to by Lance. Next time I update him, I'll more than likely move him to VR or somewhat before Mt Moon battle.

Alright! For GSC canon review I'd just suggest getting a ROM, since there's that whole internal battery issue with most of the hard copies.

But knowing that is definitely helpful in understanding where his character his coming from. He's been very much the nasty and cruel anti-hero, and his struggle to tear himself from his old way of life is definitely being handled well. I think that if there's anything to improve, it would be just to add more of his typical dismissal of things/people/etc that he didn't have any respect for, though it may be hard to maintain activity from there.

I think that even after his update, he'll still be very dismissive of others, since he's focusing on not hating them as opposed to not caring. If that makes sense! I've played ridiculous amounts of Silvers, I've always got an idea about how to play him. Was there anything you were worried about in your portrayal specifically, or are you pretty confident in how you're handling him?

0.o really? Man, then my copies of the first games are either mutants or something, but I never played them all the time. But I will look into the ROM thing.

Thanks. He's a (to me) lovable but cruel and abusive jerk who really does need to get that stick out of his butt, but... at the same time, he doesn't come across as the person who throw away all his past fully, no matter what he says, His actions speak louder than words. Otherwise he would been a LOT nicer to his pokemon and honestly try and get rid of TR than just. Meh. you do it. ._.;

Yea, the dismissive part is hard I am about to go back tag bitty Cynthia so bitty Shiver can be a shithead to her and ammy brbgoingtohell8D, because Silver knows that isolating himself here? Not the best idea ever. That said, he does need to piss more ppl off in general Like his mentors for the hell of it. Least he become 'a bleeding heart who is nice'.
