It was a rather strange sensation when Silabus opened his eyes. It wasn't like him to doze off while logged in, but it was even more peculiar with the particular area he happened to be in. He hadn't been there before, or any level like it, for that matter. It didn't look like a field or dungeon; it looked more like a root town. He wondered for a moment if he should have been there; he didn't recall any formal announcements about its opening, but it seemed to be bustling nonetheless. In truth, he quickly got a surge of excitement just looking at it all. The graphics of "The World" were always so impressive, but they really outdid themselves this time. And the aquatic setting was just beautiful. It was so strikingly realistic that he nearly got the urge to touch something.
Or maybe it just felt that way since he was... wet. After marveling over the features of the city, he finally paid attention to his own condition, and he couldn't help but find it ironic that he was wet while visiting the new underwater town.
"It must have started raining..." he quickly deduced, which meant that... he must have taken a nap outside after his jog!? Oh dear, that's a little embarrassing. It must have been the rain that woke him up then; thank goodness for it. Though he was fascinated with the new town, he supposed it would be best to log out and head home before exploring further.
... But it was strange. He didn't have any awareness of his real-life self. He couldn't envision the controller in his hands or the headset. He raised a finger to his lips as he tried to think of the reasoning behind it, but he drew it back instantly. Just now, it felt like--
Why did it feel? Silabus's hands were moving in coordination with his thoughts. Maybe he was imagining it, but it was like he was merged with his character. They were perfectly in sync. Was this all a dream? Maybe his "online junkie" level was getting to be just a little bit unhealthy.
