'Christmas' was an unusual festival, but Mitsuhide was happy to participate in something that encouraged giving to loved ones. It was ever more welcome thanks to the horrific curse that had preceeded it; Vatheon had been cruel, then offered some kindness in order to soothe the ills its visions had brought about.

Not that the young samurai had forgotten that experience at all. Lord Nobunaga had looked incredibly real, had spoken as Nobunaga would have done. Motochika had made it easier to deal with thanks to his ridiculous game, but the constant guilt and anguish he inflicted upon himself had been brought to the surface once more.

Still...

For the moment, he could not be unhappy. Everyone around him seemed cheerful, after all, and the smiles and thanks he had gotten upon presenting his gifts had been lovely. Now there was just one more person to give a present to, that being Motochika. The dearest of all his friends.

Mitsuhide had brought Motochika to the forest, and the two of them were now stood in the clearing they liked to think of as their own. Cloth covered several in-progress projects that Mitsuhide was working on. Mostly they were practise as he tried to gain enough skill to build a decent enough hut, but underneath one was something complete and much smaller than his other crafts.

"It's here," he said, smiling ever so slightly at his companion. "I am sure you can guess where it is hidden just by looking, Lord Motochika."

Crafting an actual boat was far beyond him, so instead he'd decided to craft a detaailed carving of a Chōsokabe flagship. Getting it done in time had proven difficult, and he'd had to get the help of several locals in order to get the detailing right (several parts would have been impossible to do at his current skill level), but the end result was something he was very pleased with.

It was not a piece of Motochika's home, but perhaps it might serve as a warm reminder of it.
