Riku too has been doing plenty of watching and swooping down to defend, resting whenever it was possible. The fatigue was getting to him the more the locals and others perished, so if just one more was saved... Well, maybe it could be the start of his atonement for all his mistakes. Not to mention it was only right.

It's during one of his break times that he finds himself on a nearby rooftop, then catching sight of a familiar face on another. He smirks before giving a faint wave-

--and he's sitting there next to the Cheshire. Have fun with the jumping, man. "Still people watching, huh."

He'd waved back but seeing Riku come over so close and so sudden caused him to take a quick step back, nearly slipping on his own heel and ending up against the railing. That's what he gets for paying too close attention to the road.

Geez, Riku. His heart!

Of course, he managed to clear his throat and dust himself off. "Yeah. Uh... when'd you get here? Didn't see you coming." Luka replied, rubbing the back of his head.

Riku chuckled, just a bit. Well, he certainly was using the random speed boosts/corridors lately. Though, it was in the draining side. Hence... the sitting down.

Well, he gave some warning, at least? "Five seconds ago." Duh.

Leave it to the guy who kept an eye over the neighborhood to be the one easy to spook. Luka ruffled his own hair slightly and adjusted his scarf in a vague attempt to look acceptable at the very least despite his earlier fluster.

"You look bushed." he said, sitting himself down beside the boy. Captain obvious indeed. "Been working hard or hardly working?"

Well, at least it provided a little of humor in an otherwise dire situation. It was something that was needed desperately at times. And... too late, though it isn't really noticed by the 'blind warrior.'

"...It's been more draining than usual, trying to fight like this." Having to use the darkness all the time was draining as it is, but adding onto it with the effects of this place and it became a nightmare for anyone with a heart. "Guess not taking breaks doesn't help, either."

He can't help but sigh and roll his eyes slightly at the little workaholic. Poor guy. Some part of him wondered just what the boy was fighting so hard for, why he was pushing himself to the edge. Perhaps he had a reason and secretive as he was, Luka knew it better than to ask.

Wordlessly, he tossed a sandwich onto Riku's lap. "Here. Take that before you pass out." he commented with a small smile. It was the least he could do.

Hey, what are you talking about little? He isn't a pipsqueak! And... it was probably not a bad idea to wait until Riku decided to tell Luka himself why he fought so hard, pushing himself sometimes even beyond the limits he has already.

Riku blinked at the sandwich momentarily, before wordlessly breaking it in half and holding out the other to Luka. "I don't eat that much, but thanks." That faint smile was most certainly returned.
