Emo forest buddies unite?

Riku had taken to training here in the forest, mainly to clear his head of the thoughts that continually raced through his mind. ...He wanted to go back somewhat, to make sure what they said about his future would come to pass. That his friend would awaken, but-

That train of thought was abruptly ended when he sensed someone coming. The boy blinked, jumping out of the way out of habit as the spell hit a tree branch near him. ...What. "I don't know, but I ask myself that same question every day."

It fled with everything else ;;

"Guess it came up with a couple new tricks, after all." Otherwise, it wouldn't be like that at all.

"Maybe it gets bored."

And, for the first time all night, there is the briefest flicker of a smile.
