[He is walking by when he sees her and--oh, he'd like to say hi, at least.]

Good afternoon, Haruhi-chan.

[T-testing, testing--]

[Hmmm? Kaasan senses tingliiiing...]

Haruhi-chan? Interesting choice of honorifics, Arisato-san. [Cool smirk. Aaaand then a glance towards Haruhi. B)]

[/Obliviously innocent forever over here serving lemonade.]

Hn? [She glances over] Oh hi Kyouya-senpai, Minato-san. Did you say something?

[A-ah-- Was he wrong? He'd thought--

And with the story Haruhi had told him of being forced to join, it hadn't seemed so strange to him that a girl would be in the Host Club...? A momentary lapse in speech as he considers, and then--]

Am I wrong, Kyouya-san?

[He tilts his head, curious. He understands why they'd want to keep it quiet if she's masquerading as a boy, but...he'd thought he was right...?

...If he was wrong, he'd have a lot of apologizing to do.]

[Kyouya smiles, shaking his head.] Just an interesting selection. I don't know many that call Haruhi by a chan. I hadn't realized you two had gotten that close.

[Secret: He's having his own amusement here behind that hell of a poker face.]

[However, it was impressive that this person had about as much perception as he did to notice Haruhi's true gender.]

[Er... Haruhi knows better than to trust that devilish expression, Kyouya. But she's also confused by the conversation that's taking place.]

Wait... uh... what's going on?

[There was no denial there. Hmmmm. Alright then.]

We've only spoken a few times, no.

Sorry about that, Haruhi-chan. Just a slight misunderstanding. How are you both today?

[c: He can be plenty charming.]

[Oh, Haruhi. Way to be oblivious.]

Ah, I see.

I'm well, thank you. Yourself?

[Hm... Certainly he was on to Haruhi. Perhaps he should mention something to her...]

Oh. Um, I'm doing alright. Thanks.

[Minato is especially charming when he's winning stuffed pigs out of claw machines for girls. =u= ]

I'm fine myself, thank you.

[:|b He tries.]

This is a pleasant gathering.

[The gardens. He knows nothing about gardening, but it's neat.]

Did you do many things like this back home often?

[...it must have been expensive.]

Yes. Although if I recall correctly, we haven't actually done any events that involved planting in the past.

[At least not since Haruhi had joined the club...]

We have had garden parties before, though.

[He tilts his head.]

How often did you have events back home? The Club must be very creative to come up with so many.

You have no idea... Ah. That is, it's very similar to how we run things here in Vatheon. We host events for holidays, special occasions and things like that.

[A beat.]

... And then of course the times when Tamaki-senpai would think up ridiculous events for absolutely no sensible reason whatsoever.

[...haha, that's rather amusing.]

It doesn't seem as though the Host Club runs off of sensibility, no.

[/deadpan understatement]

Still, it does bring people together; it's always nice to see so many people having a good time here.

Yeah...

[She takes a moment to look around at all of the happy, smiling guests, as well as her fellow hosts and it brings a smile to her own face.]

I guess... at the end of the day, that's what Host Club is really all about. Having a good time.

[And that--he's glad to see that. That had been what had made the Host Club worthwhile to him too, and it's good to see Haruhi smiling like this.

Even if he doesn't know her very well, he gets the sense that she takes things very seriously.]

I think you're right. We could all use the reminder that it can't hurt to have a good time every once in awhile, instead of just focusing on work.
