[She was completely drawn in, until she frankly recognized his voice. This is where... she hesitates coming along. As fascinated as she was to witness such an interesting thing that she was quite versed in knowing, there was a deeper meaning to it.

Him.

Well, more along the lines that she didn't say goodbye to him when her soulbot exploded. However, she knew that it would be okay to show up! Especially since she had a good feeling about this, and had a good idea where he was.

A faint maroon-red glow could be seen as she approached the clearing, before too long she stepped forward altogether. The fire was calm, warm... it reminded her of the Sun itself. She's not a bit nervous at all to see him again, in fact, she's entirely happy to see him again. ]

I wouldn't mind lending a hand where it's needed.

[[ooc: I do hope this is alright! .3.]]

Aradia!

[And just like that, the serene mystic is gone, replaced by a completely flustered, nervous kid.]

[Equius scrambles to his feet, nearly tripping over his hooves, and unconsciously takes a few steps backwards, away from her, keeping the small fire between them.]

Who... what... when did you get here?

[OOC: this is fine! best to get the awkward out of the way early on, yes?]

Hello, Equius. This afternoon, to be exact.

[Oh, he does seem exceedingly happy to see her. She takes a step forward after watching him trot to the other side of the fire.]

I've already said hello to a few of our friends, but I wanted to especially make sure that I attempted to speak to you before the end of the first day.

[Well, she's not mad, which is something he definitely expected; however, he still takes another step backwards when she steps forward.]

[She... wanted to see him? On the first day? That's... encouraging?]

Oh. Well, you found me, so... hi.

[You have to remember, silly horse troll, this is an alive Aradia. This is not a dead soul-botty Aradia that wants to beat to bite your head off at any given chance.

However, she doesn't like that he's still so far away, and she certainly will acknowledge this.]

I did. Why are you still keeping your distance from me? I was informed about the curses that the city places on the citizens, so that won't be a problem.

[That might be true, Alive Aradia, but he's only spent time around dead/soulbot Aradia, who regularly slapped him around. And yes, it was consensual slapping, but... he's been spending time around other trolls here, getting a different idea of what being flushed for someone can be like, and this... he's just not sure about this anymore.]

[If he ever was to begin with.]

I'm keeping my distance because I don't know why you're here, and what your intentions are.

[You do have a point, dearest Equius.

She simply crosses her arms and stares him down through the flames. If he was going to act like this, she'll have to try to get a bit tougher on him.]

Specifically, I don't know why I was placed here. I know it was for a reason, I just haven't found out why yet. Why I'm here, standing before you... I wanted to simply see you again. Something I haven't done since I ascended.

[And don't think he hasn't noticed the wings, or the fact that she's alive. Having seen John in Vatheon, he is able to recognize that she's God Tier.]

[This does very little to ease the tension.]

[He does pick up on her last comment, though, and what he blurts out next, he says without forethought or planning. Nothing here but blatant, painful honesty.]

Why?

[Equius, pls. Don't make her jump across the fire and smack you a few times for good measure.

She couldn't help but being a tiny bit sarcastic, only because it wasn't anything but the most obvious answer she could have given him.]

I missed you, maybe?

[Not the answer he expected. He crosses his arms over his chest, looking away from her, and one of his front hooves paws nervously at the ground while his tail flicks back and forth in agitation.]

Why? I mean, why would you miss me? You... we... you never...

[More of this, more of that. It was a different feeling, she wasn't a brutish robot with such a quick temper. She was a new troll entirely. She was about to answer the question, when the fact that he faltered off into such a sputter piqued her curiosity. What was he trying to say?]

I never what, Equius? Hmm?

[Her tone changed to that of someone feigning an almost innocent curiosity. He was devilishly nervous and she realized this. Why was that?]

[Gah, she's making him so nervous, and Equius does what he always does when his nerves get the better of him: he retreats into the persona of the stoic Highblood, unmoveable and emotionless. It's easier to talk when he's like this, and his hooves and tail grow as still as his face, which has formed itself into his patented Creeper Stare.]

[But at least he's looking at her now, right?]

You never showed any interest in me when you were alive. You barely showed any interest in me when you were a robot; I think you only ever answered me or tolerated me because I had the skill set to give you a body and to keep it running.

So forgive me if your sudden friendliness now that you're alive is a little... confusing.
