[Did anyone even live in these apartments? In all his time passing it, Onion Knight's yet to see someone enter it. And he does get a weird kind of feeling whenever he looks at it. Not being able to put his finger on what exactly that feeling is only makes him more determined to find out.]

[He reaches for the door handle to enter the apartment building. Because walking into other peoples' homes and taking their belongings isn't weird at all.]

[adsf;lkj startled by the sudden appearance of Gengar, but not jumping, this time. Aaah this was like a pincer attack. Not the best of places to be. Trying to keep attention on both the person and the... pokemon... in case either of them attacked again 8( ]

And what is a pokémon? A monster you control?

[Onion Knight might be sounding a bit curt still]

Not quite. They're an animal from my world that possessive power. How they use their power is up to them and in some cases their masters digression.

[Sneaking a glance at Gengar. The stranger's calm responses are going a long way in putting Onion Knight at ease.]

And... did you tell Gengar to do all that? Or does Gengar usually throw heavy things at visitors?

[No wonder no one else lives here :| ]

[Gengar snickered upon glance.]

I didn't tell him to do any of that. They simply love to scare people.

[And Morty likes neighbors too. D8]

[Putting his sword away, most of his ruffled feathers settling. This guy seems alright, even if his animal thing is a horrible little gremlin >8( Oh yeah, this guy had thought he had a pokemon.]

And they can use magic, too? [Oh. Right. Manners. That thing he sometimes forgets exists] You live here, right? I'll pay for the door.

[With what, he has no idea. But DETAILS. Beats apologising when it was this guy's pokething that scared him.]

Ahhh. I don't know if magic would be the term, but they do have powers.

Don't worry about the door.

[Gengar crept up to you like a creeper.]

[SUCH A CREEPER. Well, if this guy tells him not to worry about the door, he's not gonna worry about it. Turning to get a better look at what he can see of Gengar. Now that Onion Knight can see him, he thinks Gengar looks a bit like a horrid brat. Almost makes him want to give Gengar a light whack on the head.]

[You can hear Onion Knight's cautiousness in his voice slowly being worn away into something like curiosity.] Powers like turning invisible and hiding in shadows?

[That would explain why he couldn't see Gengar earlier. See? Nothing ghostly about that!]

Those are more like abilities than their actual power. A trait. Their power resides in their attacks.

[Even though this stranger describes pokemon as animals, Onion Knight thinks they sound more like the monsters that inhabit his world, some of which cast spells. Though most monsters aren't tamed by people.]

[Looking away from Gengar (even though he got the feeling he shouldn't take his eyes off that trickster) and back to the stranger, he tilts his head to the side]

Earlier you said Gengar was your pokemon. Does that make Gengar your pet?

[Gengar is practically hanging off of you now. It's very comfortable around you knowing you didn't trust it at all!]

Ahhh. Similar. I think of Gengar more like a companion than a pet.

[Onion Knight's trying to ignore Gengar but failing miserably. So Onion Knight is just going to try and swat at Gengar with a hand while he talks to this weird dude. Gengar you are so rude 8< ]

So... like a comrade who'll fight beside you?

[Your hand is totally going through Gengar, bro.

It was ineffective.]

Something like that.

[He's about to respond to that but.

his hand just went through Gengar D8

brb fixing broken brai-- nah it doesn't take that long for Onion Knight to recover from his surprise.]

A... a ghost?! [No, now he's recovered.] Uhh, I mean... not being able to touch Gengar is one of his abilities, right?

[THERE'S STILL NO SUCH THING AS GHOSTS 8( ]

Gengar is a ghost type pokemon. Of course your hand will go through him.

[Sorry. They exist.]

[...brb dying D8]

Y-you mean, he's dead?

[Turning to try and get a better look at Gengar and poke at those ears/horns/THINGS COMING OUT OF HIS HEAD, as if to convince himself that Gengar isn't really a ghost D8]

He's not a ghost because of a curse?
