Wednesday. 7pm. A calm, normal day in Vatheon. Nothing betrays what is coming. And yet the signs were there, if only someone had been able to see them for what they were

[ His first thought upon waking up feeling nauseated and hearing something done at the kitchen was, sadly, "Please don't tell me its another greasefire".
But then there's another quake. At that Souji completely wakes up and starts to go grab his sword, trying his best to ignore the aftereffects of his sudden bout of nausea. Once that's done, he starts running towards the kitchen while knocking loudly on the bedrooms as he passed by them and yelling for everyone to wake up.
And when he gets to the kitchen, he's greeted by the sign of tentacles.
Either this was some really bad cooking gone wrong, or something was attacking them. And he's willing to bet on the latter. Looks like keeping his swords sharp and in good condition after all wasn't a waste of time after all! Not that he ever actually thought it was, of course.
Time for some good old-fashioned tentacle-whooping! ]

[He had been slightly woken up by the chaos, but when Souji knocked on the bedrooms--
Well something had to be up, right?
Yosuke moans and rolls out of bed, grabbing his headphones and weapons of his own before staggering out of his room. It wasn't like Souji would go yelling through the house for no reason.
...
The sight of the tentacles in kitchen woke him up even more.]
What the hell?! Man, what have you guys been cooking in here now?
Yeah. I'm going to make it pay for the kitchen damages.
[ For a vague moment, Souji considers investing in a spare kitchen before refocusing on the fight. ]
Let's move on three. One, two... Go!
[ And on go, Souji swiftly dashes towards the wall and jumps over the debri. Right when he lands on his feet though, he barely has time to guard with his sword before the tentacle reacts to the sudden movement. ]
[ Oh brother, too late... Fighting the urge to say anything else, Souji rushes over to push back the tentacle to give Yosuke the time to get back up. ]

[ Why is the poor kitchen so abused... He almost feels obligated to beg its forgiveness.
But enough about that! He adjusts his grip on his sword and switches to a more natural stance while staring at the rather twitchy tentacles.
This so feels like something out of a horror novel. His life... ]
We should move this fight outside before it breaks the house more.

[But it kind of sucked that it meant Souji wasn't going to cook, though.
ANYWAY--
He nods, and looks over at the Kraken, before back at his friend.]
Following your lead as always, partner.

[ He can't say he really means that though... And with that out of the way, Souji slowly moves towards the broken wall that's not tentacle city. ]
Thanks. We'll need to move out before it can react... Ready?

[He follows Souji, and nods at his question.]
Ready when you are. Let's get this thing!

Man, where did this thing come from anyway?!

[ Slicing at this one tentacle trying to whack him now! ]

[Guess who wasn't paying attention and got hit with a tentacle?
That would be this one. Genius.]

But he's good! He staggers up before providing backup for Souji. He's on the attack now (finally).]
I need to get my head in the game.
[Or wake up. Either one.]
