There had been times back in Japan, where Bakura had wished the time would stand still. Playing games with his friends, moments where he had been lost in the heady feeling of being part of a group enjoying his favorite past time...

Now, in this place, it was as if time had stopped, but it had stopped in a moment that he wished would vanish.

Every time he had moved to a new school, a new area, he had tried to make new friends, hoping that maybe, just maybe this time, the curse hadn't followed him and he could have those fleeting moments yet again to cherish. Yet every time, he would black out and come to to the prone forms of his friends collapsed in their chairs, unable to wake. Domino he had tried something different, friends at school, at an arms length, so that they wouldn't get caught and he could still have friends...

Now that he knew the source of that curse, had met him face to face.... now he knew he couldn't even do that, so he had been keeping to himself, avoiding crowded places and not answering people's messages on the phone (except to mock the Ring's voice for the black eye.)

And he felt more miserable than he ever had before.

What was the point of coming back to life when this was the life he was returning to? The warm welcome back of his friends torn from him, replaced with the mocking sight of the Ring's voice in a twisted copy of his own body...

He looked down at the white bandages wrapped around his all but limp left hand.

"All of that..." he said softly to himself, shoulders slumped and posture miserable. "For what...?"
