Character: Evelynn aka "The Lone Wanderer"
Fandom: Fallout 3
Personality: Evelynn has grown up rather sheltered. She was her father's pride and joy and the most important person in his life, and in turn, he was her world. She depended on him. He was all she had. And so being ripped from that one person, her hero and her idol, really forced her to open her eyes to the real world. Seeing her father demonized, ridiculed, and blamed for all of the problems of the Vault, she's quickly pushed herself to believe that the sheltered life is not worth living, not when the world her father and mother loved was being destroyed slowly and that there was some good she could do.
She takes after her father, first and foremost, in the sense that she is a tough anchor for those around her. She perserveres with a raw determination that she could only inherit from the man who wanted to change the world with Project Purity. Like him, she's charismatic and rather friendly on the surface, making her a fairly likeable person all-around. But the attachments she forms are not always so strong. Her outward persona is what she uses to gleam what she can, help who she has to, and move on with the best outcome. While this doesn't always work out for her, she only really forms strong bonds with those who she can meet with eye-to-eye in some way, shape, or form. Plenty of people, like those in Rivet City, only see her as a drifter; she comes and goes and no one really knows what to make of her. But the people she has made friends with, like the men and women of Megaton, will always remember her for what she's done and consider her a member of the town itself.
She's not without her faults, though. Evelynn has picked up a rather cynical side in the course of her journey. Bullies bring out the worst in her, starting from Butch and working their way through the ranks of Tenpenny and those of the Enclave. She has little sympathy for those who hurt others for their own goals and pleasure, and instead projects a sort of righteous fury on those who stand in the way of her goal and those whom she cares most for. While her charm smooths over any sort of caustic anger she might outwardly show, and she's fairly good at manipulating and worming herself out of situations, she's not entirely above taking out a gun and just killing someone who's truly threatening her and hers.
Her original goal was to reunite with her father and to stay at his side, regardless of the consequences. Despite all that's happened, she still loved and cared for him above all else, and was steadfast in wanting to help him bring fresh water to the country, and then to anyone else they could help. When he died, while that shook her very core and foundation, she promised herself to continue on in his footsteps and never waver; she's been brought up too well to deviate that far. With the conclusion of Project Purity, and her resulting coma, she's woken up rather unsure of where to go, but her objective remains the same. She's going to keep doing what her father would do, no matter what. She owes it to him, her mother, and to all the people who have helped her get that far.
Timeline: Post-Project Purity; she's also completed "Operation Anchorage" and "Point Lookout".
Powers/Abilities: As far as Evey's "SPECIAL" skills go, she's extremely charismatic, perceptive, and intelligent. She's very good at manipulation and speech skills (like bartering and talking down madmen), and she's well-trained to detect enemies and traps as she goes. While she's not very scientific, she's pretty good at medicine and first aid, but don't ask her how to diffuse a mine. She's somewhat fast and strong, but nothing that's really better than the average person in the Wasteland, and she's got pretty good luck, all things considered (who lives from getting a piece of their brain taken out, am I right?) She's also fairly talented with a gun, and she's pretty fast unarmed. However, most things in the Wasteland can't really be killed with your bare hands. She's learned how to hack most terminals, but this world's technology will take some more adaptation before she's ready to go picking through anyone's private posts.
Perks: Animal Friend, Lawbringer, Master Trader, Explorer, Black Widow, and Survival Expert.
Limitations: She's not overly strong or fast by any means, so I'd say "none"?
History: Evelynn was born July 13, 2258 in the Jefferson Memorial, somewhere in the basements where the labs were safely tucked away, to James and Catherine. Shortly after, her mother died, and her father was left to care for her. He took her to Vault 101, where they were allowed in only because James was a doctor. He raised her to be a gentle, happy little girl, eager to please her father in every way. She only made a few friends in the Vault while she was there, but perhaps that was all for the better. Around the time when she was nineteen, her father suddenly left the Vault, and she escaped as well, heading after him. Alone, unsure, and frightened, she made her way to Megaton, where she was greeted by the people there, and her quest began to find her father.
The path to her answers wasn't very straightforward, but she didn't mind deviating long enough to find more clues to her father's disappearance. She saved Megaton from the bomb in its center, killing Burke, a man determined to see the town smolder in ruin. She helped Moira Brown write the Wasteland Survival Guide, helping people all across the country in their attempts to live as well as possible. She befriended the Brotherhood of Steel, quickly realizing that the Enclave had sworn to find and kill her father, and her as well if they should come across her. She helped Reilly and her Rangers survive a mutant onslaught, became a Regulator to help hunt down criminals and the like throughout the land, and became a member of the Railroad, a form of helpers who kept cyborgs and androids from being hunted down.
She eventually found her way to Tenpenny Towers, where she tried to make peace with the Ghouls and the humans, but neither could be swayed for a simple solution, and were kept at a standstill. She was recruited to find several missing keys which led her to kill Tenpenny, owner of Tenpenny Towers, but she ended up keeping the keys instead of turning them in. She helped Big Town survive a Super Mutant attack several times before leaving them to fend for themselves, confident they could with the training they had. She took her leave to the Oasis, where she met the women and men dedicated to help a particular tree spread his roots throughout the land and help purify the Wastes slowly but surely. Eventually, she made her way out to the more deserted areas of the Wasteland, where she helped several refugees find home again in the Lincoln Memorial, succeeding in making it a viable stand against monsters, Super Mutants, and the Enclave.
However, all of these small places only fueled her need to find her father even faster, and the clues she found eventually lead her to seek out Three Dog, a radio DJ who needed a satellite hooked up. He gave her information on her father, and she took her leave to Vault 112, where she entered into a virtual simulation of a more peaceful time, where her father and several others were being held hostage by the Overseer of the Vault. She freed them, reuniting with her father and pleading with him to follow him again, help where she could, and continue being a family. He agreed, glad to have her at his side, and took her to Rivet City, where they made preparations for Project Purity. Eve received a distress call from her old Vault, where she went back and convinced the Overseer to let the people there make their own choices, her friend Amata becoming the new Overseer and asking her to leave the Vault. She went back to Rivet City, finally ready to put their plan into action.
A team of the Brotherhood of Steel made their way to the Jefferson Memorial, determined to put their plan into action. However, the Enclave intercepted them, and James sacrificed himself in order to save his daughter and the research team by letting radiation into the chamber. They fled through a series of tunnels in order to escape the Enclave, surfacing again and returning to the Brotherhood's headquarters to come up with a new plan. She followed their instructions to get the necessary tools she needed, befriending Fawkes in Vault 87, a man turned into a Super Mutant, and obtaining a G.E.C.K. Unfortunately, Colonel Autumn intercepted her, and incapacitated her. President Eden, a super computer, attempted to convince her to give up her task, but she refused, breaking out of Raven Rock and reuniting with Fawkes and the Brotherhood of Steel.
They finally launched their plans for Project Purity, making their way back to the Jefferson Memorial, where they needed to enter the same radiation chamber to install the G.E.C.K. Eve volunteered, sacrificing herself like her father and passing out, the world going dark. Two weeks later, she awakened in the Brotherhood of Steel's infirmary, where she was told that the plan succeeded. Without a more prominant goal, she promised the Brotherhood she'd help take down the rest of the Enclave, and resumed her trek across the Wasteland, acquiring boat passage to Point Lookout and her own private bunker in the Brotherhood Outcasts' Outpost, after the team destroyed each other over a disagreement.
Appearance:
Using PB of Agnes Bruckner Eve is of average build, with dark blonde hair and brown eyes. She has fair skin, much like her mother's, and is a thin woman with not many incredibly noticeable attributes. Eve is often seen in the Wasteland wearing whatever she can, whether it be her Vault uniform or something she's taken off of a body in order to use it later. She usually wears something plain and ordinary, not wanting to be singled out in the Wasteland. She'll be bringing a few things with her on her person:
Merc Cruiser OutfitVeteran OutfitGauss RifleCombat ShotgunTwo Pistols
Five Stimpaks
50 bobbypins
Random assortment of food
Food Sanitizer
About 25 pounds of random items

Cold. It was bitterly cold, and that's what Eve woke to first. Her face was pressed, muddy and dirty, to the cold ground, her head feeling fogged and heavy. With a groan, she eased herself back up onto her hands and knees, blinking clear the mist around her eyes. What had happened to her? What hit her? Damn it, letting her guard down was not an option these days. What creature could have knocked her out so cold that she couldn't even remember passing out in the first place? She shook her head, hair falling out of its ponytail and across her shoulders. She winced a sigh and sat back on her rear, pulling it back up again, tight, checking for any sign of injury. No, nothing. But then...
She scrubbed at her face, gloved hands smearing some of the dirt off of her cheek. Eve looked around at her surroundings, meeting only trees and lush greenery. Brown eyes widened in uncertainty. She had to be dreaming now; she'd been nowhere near the Oasis. What the hell is going on? she complained, looking around in a hurry. Nothing was recognizeable, no person in sight. There were only trees, green as the eye could see, and cold grass.
Cold. Cold. What was this place?
She shivered, putting her arms around her in a moment of weakness, her breath coming out in white puffs. This wasn't real. What kind of dream put her in some cold, green reality? "What is this, a joke?" she snorted, slowly standing. She'd finally lost it, she reasoned. That little piece of brain was actually needed for something, and now she'd gone and lost her sanity in the blink of an eye. All she was seeing was green and-
...Wait, what was that in the distance? She quickly searched her pockets for her pistol, finding it right where she left it, and inched forward. A building, rather tilted, and a little dirty looking, stood before her. It wasn't anything she'd seen before, but it was something. Civilization. Maybe she had stumbled upon some area of the Wasteland she hadn't been privy to yet. Either way, she took her chances, going towards it. Maybe there'd be someone in there, someone who could explain exactly what sort of weird place she'd fallen in to...or maybe would just convince her that this was just a dream brought about by some poison in her bag.
Note to self, she thought. Throw away the Yum Yum Deviled Eggs. They're definitely not good anymore.
Sample journal entry:
[A sigh, followed by the soft crunching of feet on cold ground.] I definitely didn't sign up for this... Ugh, what's around here? Let me see... There.
[The voice grows stronger, closer to the device at hand.] Hello? Hello? Didn't have this function before. I wonder if it's just a recorder. Weird.
...Why isn't my radio working? Is this thing broken? [There's a loud tapping noise, right on the communicator, muffling it for several moments.] Well, damn it. There goes the rest of my evening.
