A near miss

I nearly got run over this morning. A car mounted the pavement right next to me. The driver didn't stop. I thought it was a potential lift in to work 'til she just drove away. This happened just after a roundabout, which too many drivers take too fast. And there's a nice slippery man-hole cover just on the exit. With all the frost, it's not ( Read more... )

Sounds like it would have made no difference in this case...

It wasn't that she didn't see him, but that she was driving too fast and lost control for a moment, or just not paying attention.

Yes the brain is busy going "tum te tum, it's off to work I go. Ooh a potential lift to work? No, maybe not. Wait a minute you nearly hit me!" Then later "oh my gosh you nearly HIT me!"

Glad you are still in one piece! Try inventing a portable force field. :-)

OR maybe you did and that is why she missed!

Good point. I should be in shock of some sort. I think I'm too tired or ill to notice the full importance of what happened.

Don't be too surprised if it hits you in a day or two! The body is a temple and a very intereesting one at times! (like my spelling)
