So, Profiterole - have you heard about the Murderbot Diaries? They might be your thing. (They certainly are mine.) The books have been translated into French. I did a series of posts about all the translations on tumblr. I'll start posting them here, too. :)
Thank you so much for posting this, for I would have missed it otherwise! I don't check LJ and dreamwidth often (and am not on Tumblr), and when there was no mention of remix last year I thought it might have stopped. The timing is kind of crowded in there with Erised and Careerfair, which are the fests I regularly try to write for (I might have to postpone career fair since it's not an exchange), but I do love remix, and it was you whose recommendation got me started on it years ago!
Also to let you know, when you posted before about reading The Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry I thought it sounded fun and put a request in for it at my library, and when it comes in I can use it for the "Recommended by a Friend" square on my library's summer book bingo card! :D Looking forward to it, as well as to "The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels" (not lesbian, but looking very fun).
Khalulu!! how wonderful to hear from you. :) It is kind of crowded, with all the fall and winter fest (not to forget OWLFEST). It will be Drarry Fall and Winter for sure. But yeah, H/D Remix!
Oh, and how wonderful that you are checking out C's Ruthless Lady's Guide. Once you read it, let me know what you think.
I am doing well! Tomorrow I'll get my first anti-covid-vaccination. How are you doing, sweet?
Do I remember Chris Williamson, The Changer and the Changed? Yes, I do. Absotutely! Those were the days in the late 1980s when I listened to a radio show called Women's Music every Monday night. :) It was so great! I still have tapes of the show. (But I'd be hard-pressed to find a tape recorder to listen to them.) It must have been a blast to go to one of her concerts.
I am glad you could continue teaching during the pandemic, even if only on Zoom. I kind of did the same: we've been teaching a lot of writing classes on Zoom, especially during last winter. Now we are going back to live teaching, with some people still on Zoom.
During the hardest weeks of the lockdown, me and gf moved to one apartment and kept each other company. It was okay. We've been taking LOADS of walks. I pretty much stopped usinmg public transport in Berlin, but joined NextBike, a bike-sharing service. I am biking now everywhere. :)
