Fic: Blackout Zone, Epilogue (FF/SPN)

I realize that everyone probably thought I'd forgotten all about this, or rather, that everyone else probably has forgotten all about this, but here's another piece of "Blessings Against Thunder." I'm calling it the epilogue to Blackout Zone. It's just John and Zoe, and almost no plot. It was supposed to just be comfort sex, but I forgot how ( Read more... )

Oh, lovely. I hope John unbends a little, because I don't think he realizes how much Zoe is opening up for him. Sigh.

The sad truth is that this is unbendy for John. Although I suspect that he will be perfectly tolerant when she finds it hard ot deal with his presence on Serenity.

Thank you - what a nice way of putting it, the rhythm of the characters.

I don't think I mentioned how much the first two paragraphs made me laugh, between Inara shoving John out one hatch and slamming it after him, and Zoe barring the other hatch on the other hand, wanting answers. There's just no escape. Poor John.

...gonna be awkward if she won't let him onto his own ship

Heee! But it's for his own good. Really.

Your small changes are spot-on as usual, imo. The addition to the last sentence perfects the cadence of the line precisely.

I suspect that John has always been more-or-less at the mercy of determined women, and Serenity is full of those. It's just that he lives in such a masculine world, after Mary's death -- I think he has no idea how to deal with women.

Odd the difference that two words can make, isn't it? And thank you for your help, as always. Please do write to me about crossovers, as well.

Thank you! I think there will be more, but I need to sit down and outline the plot for the next arc of the story.

It's not...End end, right? RIGHT? *panicks*

I enjoyed that so much.

I really liked the rhythm, the flow of the scenes from one to the other. There was a real comfortable lightness, there. Like a dance that they've almost worked out all the steps to.

No, no -- not the end. I know where this set of stories will end (at least, I think I do), but we're not there yet.

I'm glad you liked this; I think it was a bit self-indulgent on my part, but I wanted to write it.
