The beast is done. Part 4, the conclusion.
Part 4: Redemption.
Jody falls to the floor. Her pain reaches out, but cannot be heard by a single sole. She knows it's impossible to face the day. She gets in her car, and heads home. Her blouse is stained with tears as she enters the parking garage. As she walks through the humble line of automobiles, she suddenly gets the strangest feeling as if she's being watched. Obviously, she has to shrug it off. What's she going to do? She's Jody..
She unlocks her doors, and opens it slowly, as if to not wake anybody up. Why did she? Who knows. Nobody is sleeping, it's midday. Whatever the case may be, she settles down with some ice cream and television. Salty ice cream, if you know what I mean. Slowly, she drifts off into a deep care-free nap. Just what the doctor ordered. While asleep, she has the strangest dream. Her brother is executed as a child for something she did. Well, she's not a child anymore. Nothing to worry about. That is, until she weaks up to a blood curdling scream.
Sordid and alone, in the dark of the night, she wonders out into the hallway. Nothing seems to be amiss at first, hold for an open door a few spots down. She meanders over to it like an innocent little kitten about to be raped by it's master. As she slowly gains eyeshot of the room, fear grips her every movement. First, overturned chairs and furniture become visable. Next, blood, lots.. and lots.. of blood. everywhere. After this, glass. Glass all over the floor. And last, a solitary broken window, with a solitary broken man standing in front of it..
Ralph speeds away from Jody, watching her wretched body curl up into a ball in the corner of the door and the wall. He laughs it off, and heads to the local hardware store. He picks up his goods, too obvious is their uses that telling you would spoil the story. He heads to Jody's apartment complex. He waits under the dark cover of the parking garage for Jody to get home. Low and behold, she's early. It appears as if her car is already in the garage. And to think, all that waiting for nothing.
He slinks into the halls and heads towards her room. He has a pretty good idea which one. Under the cover of darkness he slides right into the dark room. Behold a lonely little girl, in the dark, staring at her tv facing the window. Ralph didn't know this was going to be so easy. He makes his way through the empty room, pouring through the room like hot liquid, ready to burn the first it comes in contact with.
He stops right behind her chair. Just as the dark figure begins to turn, he palms the top of her head and pulls out a double edged hunting knife. In a mad rage, he saws on her face with the fish-scaling side. After making a bloody pulp of her head, he bashes her on the back of the neck to knock her out, and heads for the door. At the last moment, just as he's about to leave, a strange feeling comes over him, and he suddenly turns around.
He looks at the wretched body carefully, now noticing some oddities about Jody's body. He's inspected her very closely at work, he knows Jody's body like the back of his hand. The bloody pulp begins to come to, and trys to scream. It's simply too painful. Ralph watches closely what happens next. She feels her face. She knows what has happened, but not why, and a painful sound comes from within her.
A heart breaking moan from her throat. Ralph looks closely, and sees tears mixed with blood roll down what's left of her face. She slides off of the chair, and hits the floor. She then begins to slink slowly towards the window. She reaches it, and starts wrapping on it with the weakest of blows. She would never break it, but on she wrapped, harder and harder. Rlalph knew what she wanted. She wanted out.
Ralph knew he had made a terrible mistake. This wasn't Jody at all. He grabbed a heavy lamp on the floor, and threw it over her head, through the window. The mystery lady then climbed through, and opened her eyes for the first time. The buildings were beautiful, all bathed in full moonlight. The stars shone bright, a rarity to say the least. It was a fine night to die. Ralph watched, and began to weep himself as she slowly outstretched her arms, and tumbled out. The room, was now empty.
Ralph doesn't count, he is nolonger a man. He knows what he's done. He approaches the window, and looks down. Aye, it truely is a beautiful night to die. He almost forgets what he has done, and turns around. There's little Jody in the door way. Wide-eyed and heartbroken. The look on his face explained what he was about to do. He turned slowly, and outstretched his arms. Jody ran to him, and threw her arms around him. He assured him it would all be ok. He assured he they could make a life together. Ralph had other plans.
He turns to her, and in a moment what seemed like an eternity, the two locked lips in a passionate embrace. A moment later, the police walk in. Ralph takes a look at Jody, a look at the police, and a look at te window. Ralph looks her dead in the eyes, and says "I love you." The two of them tumble out of the window, gripping each other tightly. As they leave the ledge, Jody says her last. "I love you too."
