Why Give Up?

I woke up on the wall again

Right next to my bed.

Peeled my face off the cold paint

And faced sideways at my pillow.

With arms braced for some kind of

Awkward push-up, I try to steady my brain,

But standing perpendicular to my life always

Makes me a little giddy.

To go anywhere I had to reach up to my desk

And pull myself to its side

Knocking over
