but Bella turns into a monster later on, and then saves all the other monsters. all Belle does is dance around a floor in a ball gown. surely that counts for something? ;)

Technically, Alice saved all the other monsters. And Belle saved the entire castle from their curse. :P

well, Alice brought the other halfbreed, but Bella's shielding ability had a slight impact on the fact that everyone survived until she got there. *wry look*

the fact that Belle loved the Beast is nice, but it's not like she had a noble mission to save everyone. it was more of an unintended consequence of saving her mate. the one correlation i find amusing is that Bella had saving everyone in mind even though her tie to Edward was supposed to be all-consuming... and Belle, who was supposed to have all these other interests, in the end, only acted to save the Beast.
