This isn't a remake. The first movie was fudged around waayyy too much just to sell candy bars. The Wonka bars in the movie were the actual ones being sold in real life. And Mr. Slugworth was never in the original story. They only used him to add an "evil" end of it all, to make it seem like you should buy Wonka candy, and not any of the others. Since, the other companys would just be "trying to steal" from the Wonka company. The movie ruined the book just for the sake of advertisement. Although I think the 1971 "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" movie is amazing... I loved the book more. And the book was named "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". I love Tim Burton's work. And he is going to stick to the original story of the book. So I see this movie to be the greatest thing since the invention of porn.
fuck the book and fuck the movie, i love the screenplay more. its WAAAAYYYY better. WAAAAYYYY more detail. the characters literally JUMP out the pages!
I JUST got the notification in the mail about this comment. haha. Almost a year later. But it's a good movie, almost too true to the book. If you love Roald Dahl, you'll love this movie.
you know what? fuck the whole lot of ya. fuck the book, fuck the movie and especially fuck the screenplay! everyone knows the poster to the movie pissed over all that stuff! i mean, come on, you know the movie poster owned all! god! am i the only who truly has any fuckin' taste!?? and don't get me started on the Willy Wonka mousepad. the movie based on the book that got adapted into the screenplay which got turned into a poster almost made a mockery of the mousepad. but, i digress...
