:-p  And I found out that my husband's friends have a betting pool on what percentage of this stuff is mine and what is his.

My suggestion is that "Toss it" should be the default option. Unless you have a specific use for an item, get rid of it. That's what I tried to do when we moved to CA, and we still have too much stuff. "Donate it" sounds nice, but in practice is impossible. Evidently when you call up Goodwill and make an appointment for them to pick up your couch, it means they show up hours late just to say they don't have room in the truck.

I also concur that "toss it" is a solid default option. If you haven't used it in a year, and you didn't get a super-irreplacable deal on it, toss it. I'm doing a serious culling of everything I own that I don't use anymore, regardless of what it is.
