- What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Used a CPAP, bought a computer from a small online retailer, maybe a couple other things. Not much. - Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Since my only resolution was to wear a silver jumpsuit since it's now officially The Future, no, I did not. - Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not yet, but my cousin and his wife are going to have a kid next year. - Did anyone close to you die?
My great-uncle. He was 101, but we're going to miss him. My dad especially. - What countries did you visit?
None of them. I live in the US, so it doesn't count. - What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
No more migraines, a job, a social life, a girlfriend...lots of stuff. - What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory? Why?
None of them are going to specifically stick with me. - What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I finally got officially declared disabled. So now you're all sending me just enough of your tax money to pay for my doctor visits and prescriptions. - What was your biggest failure?
Is it a failure if I still have migraines? - Did you suffer illness or injury?
Migraines. Sinus infection. Just the normal ones. - What was the best thing you bought?
Fallout: New Vegas. I love that game and the Fallout universe in general. - Whose behavior merited celebration?
Senator Bernie Sanders, the man who single-handedly spoke for more than eight hours straight on everything that's wrong with our government today. With visual aids! If he'd actually done that when there was a vote up, he'd redeem all "Independent" Senators from what Joe Lieberman has done to the term. - Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Practically every other politician at the Federal level. Most especially Virginia Foxx because she's my Representative and she doesn't know what it feels like to have an original thought. - Where did most of your money go?
Prescriptions, doctor visits, transportation to/from those things, and medical equipment. - What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Fallout: New Vegas and my new desktop computer, which has not lived up to expectations at all. I'm getting a full refund. - What song will always remind you of 2010?
I really don't know. I don't actually listen to new music unless someone tells me about a band. Maybe "Jingle, Jangle, Jingle" by Kay Kyser and his Orchestra because I'd never heard it before I played New Vegas. - Compared to this time last year, are you:
A. Happier or hardened? About the same, I guess.
B. Thinner or fatter? Fatter. Working on losing weight, but slowly.
C. Richer or poorer? Slightly richer because now I'm a drain on society. - What do you wish you'd done more of?
Living. - What do you wish you'd done less of?
Having a migraine. - How will you be spending Christmas?
With my family, just like always, and then spending my best friend's birthday with him and some other people I don't see nearly enough of. - Did you fall in love in 2010?
Nope. - How many one-night stands?
Zero. Zero dates. Zero anything romantic. Just like the last four years. - What was your favorite TV program?
Community, 30 Rock, The Office, and The Venture Bros. - Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I try not to hate people. - What was the best book you read?
Probably Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny. Excellent classic science fiction. - What was your greatest musical discovery?
Vampire Weekend? Did I hear about them this year?
Maybe it was She and Him. I was really excited when I heard that Zooey Deschanel was singing as more than just an occasional thing. She's got a fantastic voice. - What did you want and get?
Disability. - What did you want and not get?
No more migraines and a functional desktop computer. - What was your favorite film of this year?
I just saw Tron: Legacy and it was very good, so I'm gonna go with that. - What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
On my birthady itself? Sat around, listened to a podcast where they read an e-mail I sent in, and ate some cake with carob icing. It actually tasted good.
For my birthday? I hung out with some friends a couple weeks later when they weren't busy.
I was 29. - Whats one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not having migraines. - How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
"Whatever's in my closet that I can still wear." I'd really like to dress more like people did in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, but that costs money. - What kept you sane?
Blowing stuff up in computer games and working on my Big Secret Project. - Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
If, by "fancy," you mean "appreciate" or "respect," then Tom Merritt. He really expanded the number of podcasts he does and I've come to even more appreciate the breadth and depth of his knowledge. He's something of an intellectual role model.
If you mean "think is attractive," then I guess Zooey Deschanel. She's got really pretty eyes. - What political issue stirred you the most?
The general short-sighted idiocy of Congress as a whole. It's too tough to pick one specifically. - Who did you miss most?
My friends.
