I am a bad blogger!

So I went on vacation this weekend and completely forgot my camera! Here is the short text only version of what I did.

On Friday we headed out to Charelemot to go "funyaking" which is kayaking in inflatable boats. It was a good time, though the Deerfield River was a bit shallow and slow moving. The most exciting part was when we were going through a small area of rapids and I hit a rock head on, which tossed me over the front of the boat into the foot deep rocky water. I managed to hold onto my paddle and my boat eventually caught up with me. I climbed back once I was in calmer water and managed not to hit too many rocks the whole time I was floating there.

After our trip was over we went up to my grandparents house. When we are about a mile from their farm a hge thunderstorm started, and we got pelted with hail. We made it in once piece, and had dinner while the power flickered all night. Right as I was about to shower the power went out all together, which meant no running water since they have an eletric pump for the well. I felt so muddy from the river though that I used the pitcher of ice water left over from dinner to wash my hair and rinse off.

Saturday was nice, we hing out around the house and visited a blueberry festival in town. That night my aunt and cousins came up too, so we all spent the evening together. Sunday morning we had my Granny's famous blueberry pancakes and then went to a Fiber Farm! This place was so cool. The had sheep, goats, llama, alpaca, camels, and yaks! It was also really beautiful and they had this gorgeous stupa built on th property. I guess a lot of Tibetan refugees live and work on the farm, and they have a landscaping business.

I spent forever in the shop at the fiber farm, unfortunately they don't have any yarn but lots of beautiful roving. I bought myself a bag of soft lovely alpaca, and the owner gave my two different kinds of wool to practice spinning on.

All in all a very productive weekend!
