I decided to go to Chevron 7.2

Sep 26, 2008 15:40

I just ordered my ticket for Chevron. Now to find a hotel, especially since I know nothing about the area. While I am excited about P4, I really wanted to meet Joe and since it seems unlikely he will be invited to P4, I'll grab what chance I have. I will have to figure out what to do about my hotel reservation at the Thistle, since karaotter had talked ( Read more... )

ROTFL! I think Jason is more of the noogie type (I was surprised you didn't say goose Joe). I did splurge and get the gold ticket - covers autographs and photos with the guests, plus a private cocktail party with the guests, limited to 100 people. (Let's see how much trouble this can lead to.) I am going to wait and see who gets announced for P4, but I'm going to wait a little longer to book plane tickets - if P4 really is good I might be able to sell my Chevron ticket.

I'm glad pavaneofstars talked me into going to Burbank - DH will be there, along with Jason, Kavan, and Rachel (yes, seeing Kavan again is a downer. ;) ). Plus hopefully I will have passed my comps.

I'm still hoping to spend a day or two sightseeing in London

I saw Joe ever so briefly at comic con, like from 12 rows back. And he bailed on the autographing. But you - you get to have drinks with him!! omg, that'll be so much fun! :D

Well, I've really wanted to meet Joe and I know he doesn't do many dons - plus the fact that Jason's going to be there... (now add DH to that mix and we're talking trouble!) It sounds like this may be a smaller con, given how limited some of the packages are. I splurged for the most expensive package (hey, I'm already spending a bit to get there) and beside the small party it includes photos and autographs with all the guests, plus a shot with all the guests (I think I will be shaking). I'm not sure how many Americans will be there, especially with P4 a month before. Hopefully I can transfer my P4 ticket to P5.

The biggest pain will be getting to Bedford and back - it's about 2 hours by train from Heathrow, but it looks cute and there are probably some good options for coffee and food.

I think JF ducked out of autographs for ComicCon because it'd be a mob scene if he was there. Speaking of cons, are you going to tell DH at Burbank you're responsible for that video on youtube? :D

omg Joe, Jason, *and* David - that would be all kinds of squeeee!! :D

It sounds like a fun con. :) Have you traveled via train out of London to anywhere before? mercury973 and I took the train out of London to Stonehenge last January, so having used the trains there before, I think I could manage it. Of course, that doesn't help you much if you haven't traveled via train anywhere in England before. (sorry)

Do you think I should? I would love to see his reaction. *g* Of course, there would be the small matter of bringing that up in the first place in front of hundreds of other people. :o

Well you could bring it up if he's at one of the parties - smaller audience - but I do want to see the look on his face if you do. ;D

I've actually taken the train from London to Cambridge years ago (plus several days figuring out the Underground) and managed to navigate the Paris train system (including during a strike). I'll probably try and get in touch with a couple people via GW and we may all take the train together. I've managed to travel via Greyhound, so the English trains can't be that bad.

Ehm, well, hi :) I'm sorry to barge in like this, I found this post and your lj through a google search for the chevron con.

I really, really want to go but the way it looks right now it'll just be me by myself and I'm a little intimidated. So... do you know anyone who will be getting there by train and might want to ride together? Maybe even someone who is still looking for a roomie?

...I don't mean to come of all pathetic, I swear *laughs* I'm just looking for con friends :)
