Packing take two...
I repacked this morning and took out a couple things so everything fits in my travel backpack and will be much easier to manage. -
Well, I'm packed, but Max wants to come too!
Well I'm all packed for London - my parents will be coming by tomorrow morning to take me to the airport. I didn't get everything in my travel backpack like I hoped, even though I used it for P4 last year and for the Burbank con. That last minute rush...
No matter how much I plan, I always wind up rushing around before a big trip - this time is no exception. I still need to finish cleaning, doing the laundry and pack (and make sure everything will fit), plus there's some schoolwork to be taken care of. Counting the days, but it's been a long week...
Well, I'm counting the days until I leave for London and I really hope the weather improves. I haven't seen cold weather and snow since college (ok, I've seen some cold weather). I need to get my backpack out and make sure everything fits - normally I'm comfortable with what I'm wearing, but somehow cons really make me think ( Read more... ) -
House re-fi update
I called my new mortgage company yesterday and found out that my re-fi application is moving along slowly but surely. I found out last Saturday that I had cleared one big hurdle - income - I simply needed to prove I had a job (which was a relief since grad students do not make much). I bought plane tickets
Got my plane tickets for London yesterday after double-checking my schedule with everyone. I'm doing what I did last time - Southwest flight to LAX, and a non-stop to London on Air New Zealand. I'll arrive in London on Wed. and leave Monday. Maybe not the easiest way to do things, but there aren't non-stops out of Phoenix except for British ( Read more... ) -
Groans, cheers, and a sobering thought
Groans - I probably have to go address the biosafety committee next week for approval of my lab research. Of course my advisor will be out of town, which is why I have to go, although I probably know all the safety protocols and potential problems better than he does (fungi are not field of research). Went to the 'rents for dinner (ah, the advantage of living by one's parents), which took me 75 minutes from school. Not the way to start the morning (or Monday)
Woke up this morning to an ice-cold house. At first I thought the heater had died, but I quickly found out that the batteries in the thermostat had died, so the thermostat shut the heat off.
