Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) in a committee transcipt printed by
Wired, complained that the Internet was sent to him by his staff at 10 o'clock on Friday, but it took days for him to get it.
In an attempt to justify his vote against a bill that supports network neutrality -- that means all packets (voice, email, etc) will be treated with equal priority -- he gave a jaw-dropping lecture on how the internet works.
Apparently, the internet is a series of tubes. Tubes that can be filled up because you chose to use your Yahoo! voice chat instead of just calling, cheap person that you are. And because of you, the U.S. DoD has been forced to use a different kind of internet! Shame on you!
So, does anyone have a spare tube I can borrow or something?
