Narnia vs. Narnia

I have nothing against the new Narnia movies, in fact I quite enjoyed them. But no amount of special effects can make them more magical than the 80's/90's BBC version. The music in the BBC version will stay with me forever no matter how hard I laugh at the hand drawn monsters.

Memories!!!

I remember watching that so vividly. Was it on at teatime? And you're right, there's still something so magical about it, even though the modern Narnia films have far more money thrown at them and better special effects. My best friend once met the boy who played Prince Caspian and 10 year old me was so envious!

The only downside I remember was that I always found Lucy a bit annoying. But then again I found her annoying in the books too.

No idea what time it was on... We lived in Poland but my English gran would bring us tapes with British films and TV (which let me tell you- in Communist Poland? Biiig deal.). That just made it even more magical for me.
I agree that Lucy is annoying. I remember rolling my eyes A LOT.

I think my eyes were permanently rolling, I probably looked deranged. She was such a little know it all.

What other British programmes did you watch? If you don't mind me asking. Watching that Narnia trailer has made me think back on all the old dramas like Black Beauty, The Tomorrow People, Follyfoot Farm etc :D Good times!

Except for Black Beauty, none of those. I do remember my dad mentioning The Tomorrow People. I do remember a lot of Enid Blyton, both books and and the BBC television series. One of my favourites was Nesbit's " The Railway Children" although I think it was the film version which is pretty recent.I have to call my sister I'm sure she remembers something more..
