This was kind of exciting! (Really? From the guy who'd organized the raid on Central Park?) Getting to run a Secret Mission for Zero was basically the best thing ever. Raiel wasn't about to let him down. And if things went really well maybe he'd just manage to impress the heck out of FEARLESS LEADER. (Hadn't he done that already in Central Park? Wasn't that why he was here in the first place ( ... )

Contrary to her ordinary behavior Boriane didn't hide her sword at her back under the robe. It rested in a comfortable underhand grip on her side. Zero's plan was too hazardous to waste time with drawing it.

Looking at her teammates she only recognized Raiel; the black-haired guy and the blond one she hadn't met until now. And she could see the excitement in Raiel's face. I am the only one who realizes how dangerous it is what we're going to do? Maybe... They look all so young. Granted, I'm also young, but I can look back on 20 years of combat training and experience. I hope they also have it and Zero choose the right people. The high priestess knew she couldn't reason form appearance to experience and she didn't doubt Zero. Frankly she trust him (or better both) since she knew the two persons who could disguise behind the mask ( ... )

"Let's go," Haruka told her group as soon as she had received the signal from P group. She felt good to have the other senshi on her team, since she really didn't know the skill of some of the others. Still, this was a mission and she was going to stay focused. Her group would have plenty of time to prove themselves. Haruka herself was untransformed but had her space sword with her. If things got too hairy she would transform and would give the signal to the other senshi.

For now, she was directing B Group's movements, "You know what we need to do. Make sure that R group remains unhindered and don't let anything get by."

Michiru stood with her mirror in hand, watching the other members of their group closely. This was different from what she was used to, working in such a large group, but she wouldn't let that affect her now.

"We need to secure the area," she reminded the others in the group, glancing down at her mirror. It wouldn't be too hard... R group would hopefully be able to do their work without too much of a problem...

Minako had to remind herself why she was even bothering with any of this. Because she'd been approached. Because she wanted to find a way out. Because she had nothing left to lose...

The pop idol waited with the B group until they were cleared to go... And now Haruka was instructing them with Michiru helping... She stared at the two senshi and nodded her head firmly. She tightened her grip on the pole she'd grabbed to fight off the crabs and started to follow them into the seaport.

Negi followed the others into the seaport, his make-shift staff held in his hand. He was ready to cast a spell at a moments notice. He kept glancing at the other members of his team. He was used to working with people older than him and he knew a lot of people here had great powers that allowed them to take care of themselves. However, Negi couldn't help but to worry about the safety of the others.

He tried to stay focused though. He had to learn how to have faith in those who were helping him. So far, things were relatively calm. He wondered how long that would last.

"Morituri salutamus."

The words where whispered as he stood a small distance away from Zero, low enough that the masked revolutionary wouldn't hear. He wasn't sure how accurate the phrase would be, but there was a definite danger. Even without crabs, they were attacking the giants...and he was no longer proof against power such as that at their disposal. Judgment from neither heaven nor Hell...it would be retaliation from humanity...by proxy. To fall without due preparation would be undignified ( ... )

Aerith had voiced her opinion on the matter already, in person: that they were crazy to attempt this. But she had agreed at once to help them. She couldn't leave anyone to the fate of the bite victims, not now that they knew what happened. The hope was that they wouldn't encounter many bites, or else she would be in for a long, long ride ( ... )

Wordlessly, Zero started through the building, expecting the other two to follow. In hand was a briefcase, containing all of the wireless devices necessary to their plan. That aspect he would take the reins of.

They passed empty storefronts, abandoned kiosks, and headed for the docks. Ahead was a buzz of activity of boats being commandeered, and being outfitted with the requisite motors and other equipment. "This is only the beginning," he told both Naoki and Aerith. "This will stand as the end of the opening movement, and what will follow this night will turn the whole game on its head." Beneath his mask, he glanced to Naoki, before turning his eyes on the scene before them. On a remaining outdoor cafe table, he placed his case. Upon opening it, he extracted a laptop, a cell phone, and several antenna receivers. His fingers flew on the keys, his focus turning to the screen, testing and monitoring the signal strength of all of his devices.

Naoki was under no illusion. As callous as it sounded, Zero was right; this was just a game. A game played with real lives, with real futures, and with death as the method of interaction. Zero was a gamesman, and a good one. Naoki understood his skill...though it remained to be seen if it would be sufficient to free them.

Leaving the strategy to the strategist for the moment, Naoki turned to regard Aerith. He liked the look her eyes, actually. There was that fire there, the same fire that he knew burned in his that time in the subway will you watch over me, Sakuri?, and that time fighting his way up Kagutsuchi Tower be my strength, Yuko-sensei. She would not let others die can you hear me, Tatsuki?, not while she drew breath.

"We'll work together," he reassured her. "Izanami will not meet her quota by hounding us today."

Back when he was a kid, Mac loved a certain kinda five-alarm chili that his grandpa loved to make. Made you feel like you were about to blow...or sneeze fire. Either way, that chili stuck with him - more ways than one, too.

For example, the recipes he tended to make right now. Some aluminum, fertilizer, a bit of titanium for good measure, all that delicious stuff that tended to make for an...explosive feast ( ... )

This wasn't quite the Doctor's favorite sort of mission - typically, he preferred adventures that involved things that were significantly less likely to explode. Still, he supposed that he'd had more than his fair share of experience with explosions, and as much as he might want to deny it? This sort of mission was right up his alley.

Besides, if there was anything that he'd learned about this city during his stay, it was that drastic measures were very often necessary. The Doctor reminded himself of this fact as he worked on fastening one of the copper plates over the explosive ingredients of one boat. They had to do all that they could do to find a means of escape, and if that meant taking drastic measures against these creatures, well, then.... While it wasn't their fault if they were created - or perhaps programmed might be a more accurate word, considering the discovery of those remotes - to wreak havoc and violence, protecting and saving the innocent people in this city was of the most importance. There was simply no way ( ... )

"Pretty much," Mac called back, wiping more sweat off his brow. Granted, he wouldn't test these things right now, but the mix was right, and the method was something he'd seen before...rather fittingly enough, used by terrorists to attack armored cars.

Kinda weird being on the other end of it, he had to admit.

"Honestly, I'm not too keen about this, but so far's I can tell, this'd be one of the few ways to actually get 'em good n' distracted, n' maybe break our jailer's hold." He kept tightening connections, his hands deft and eyes practiced. Each explosive was wired, and there would be a simultaneous volley from a single signal. All or nothing.

A long time passed before Mac spoke again. "I hope they're still not somewhere in there. Their consciousness, I mean."

That was encouraging, to know that the other man actually felt the same. It gave the Doctor a rare opportunity to express his own misgivings. "Honestly? I couldn't agree more. Not too keen on the method involved, but with limited resources and...well." He stopped. Sighed. Shook his head. "S'pose it's all we can realistically try at the moment to, as you put it, break our jailer's hold. But, no, I would rather not have to do any of it," he finished, continuing to work.

When MacGyver spoke again, the Doctor's hands stilled momentarily. That was something he had been asking himself ever since the recent events with that man - Basil, he had been called - had occurred ( ... )
