Mincemeat in the slowcooker

Have any of you made mincemeat (the raisin and apple based pie filling -- not actual meat) in the slow cooker? I was looking at this Cook's Illustrated recipe, which calls for simmering on the stove for 3 hours, and thinking it might be easily modified to cook in the slow cooker ( Read more... )

maybe you could reduce the cider on the stovetop before putting it in the crock, so it isn't as watery when you add it. i imagine you'd retain all the flavor.
