Wow. Some chapter. Very good. I liked the flicking back and forth of the timeline.

Thanks so much! I'm glad the flipping back and forth is working. :)

Thank you. I spent the 5 hour drive back from St. George thinking about it actually, thinking about where things from from that moment. It's going to be interesting.

You continue to amaze me with your ability to bring emotions to life with words in a way that actually makes my heart ache.

I'm loving the back and forth timeline as well. Letting the past inform the present is helpful since I'm not caught up on canon. (But I have always found that your world is SO much better than canon.)

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for reading! I love that you are reading even though you don't know the characters well. :)

The tension you've created, in both timeframes, is really captivating. Can't wait to see where you take it from here.

Actually, where I've started going with chapter 5 ... it's my favorite chapter so far and there isn't going to be any sex in it. ;)

I'm really glad you jumped in and enjoyed this. Especially since Gibbs/Jenny isn't what you usually read. I hope that you are able to jump in and enjoy some of the other things I've written. :)

The only reason Gibbs/Jenny isn't what I "usually" read is because, frankly, I haven't seen much of it, and what I have seen was just silly. I really like this pairing - there's so much history and subtext to be explored, and it's great that you're doing that in the past as well as the 'present'.

This fandom is over-run with either Tiva or slash fics. Especially Tibbs. It never ceases to amaze me how a mediocre writer (at best) can post a Tibbs fic and within hours there are 50 or 60 comments on it, all raving about how wonderful it is. (Yes, I admit I've checked them out, but only to see what all the fuss was about. Still haven't a clue.) Slash seems to be the most popular genre, by far, and as my LJ pal Rigil Kent so often says, Gibbs and DiNozzo are so very heterosexual, it boggles the imagination how people can picture them together that way ( ... )

What cracks me up was that this was my internal rant not 2 hours ago when I was looking at stuff before I went to the gym.

There is a lot of REALLY silly Jenny/Gibbs stuff out there. The "Jibbs" label as it is makes me get all eye rolley. But there are a couple of good writers out there who do get the subtext and the history between them. There is SO much to be explored with them.

I really don't like a lot of the Tony/Ziva stuff. I get why people write them as a couple and I've written my share of Tony and Ziva having sex. The love is there, but again, the history between them makes for something much different than the giggly stuff that people write. And as for Gibbs and Tony ... I could swallow it if Gibbs was EVER written in character in the 2 or 3 I've looked at. But it's like they've never watched an ep EVER.

Anyway, I gotta take my sister home from work so I must stop with the rambles.

God I love this chapter. So hot, so very very hot.

I love how Jenny and Jethro can't keep their hands off each other! the 4.01 flashbacks are really well done, and I do love how you mix up the timelines. The psychological build up of Jenny's relationship with the operation just grows more disturbing. Poor Jenny!

They really can't keep their hands off each other. Trust me. It made for an VERY interesting conference to be writing that last scene in her bed while sitting at a table with the Executive Director from another agency. ;)

As I write, I'm really coming to the reasons for why she walked away from him and it has very little to do with her 5 point plan, although she tells herself it does because she likes that little river in Egypt.
