hey everybody.
i guess i want to preface this by saying that i've thought long and hard about this. it's not a decision i've taken lightly. and while i welcome your comments, i'm not going to change my mind by somebody calling me a murderer or something like that on livejournal. that said...
in february 2008, i'm going to be studying abroad in méxico (through the méxico solidarity network in tlaxcala, mexico city, chiapas, and ciudad juárez studying mexican social movements like the zapatistas, in case anyone cares). i decided that i'm going to eat what i'm given, which, of course, will include meat, cheese, and eggs. i've been a vegan for almost six years, so this is a pretty scary thing to me. my question is, has anybody here done this kind transition and how did you do it? i was planning on slowly starting to eat animals products in the fall--is that the best idea? i have no idea how i should do it--what foods i should start with, how fast i should go into eating things, etc. i assume it will just be a lot of feeling it out--i.e., if i feel like i'm going to puke, i should probably stop eating the thing i'm eating.
so does anyone have any experience with this stuff?
