Today marks my eighth year of being a vegan. I have to admit, when I first started I wasn't sure where I would go with it, but I was determined to follow my heart and stick with it, despite my peers and society not making it easy. I'm a lazy vegan, too, but I figure I can just take a supplement (vegan, of course) and not worry about keeping track of every little nutrient out there. I mean, tens of millions of omnivores take vitamins every day, so why not me? All my vitamins, plus iron and calcium (though I don't take calcium every day, I'm not sure we need as much without all that animal protein) and if I have a few days in which I count Oreos as a food group, I'm not worried. (Though, truth be told, a lot of processed foods like that have kind of lost their charm. Oranges are better than Oreos.)
