Well, I just joined, and I thought I should post right away, because I wasn't even totally sure I should accept the invitation, and this is why:
I joined
vegandebate quite a while ago, and then I became a moderator. I had a really hard time communicating with the other moderator of that community, as she hardly ever responded to my emails or participated in

I guess I was mainly wondering if it would be unethical to just swoop back in and start moderating again after a long absence. I do see that I am the maintainer, so I suppose I have the right, but I'm not 100% sure how I became the maintainer.
It's just kind of a weird thing.

or maybe when misteashinra left, zie figured out what your current journal was and added it? (but you would have had to join with the new journal in order for hir to make you a maintainer.)
but since you're the only maintainer left, i see nothing wrong with picking it back up. just apologize for the absence, and maybe explain the circumstance to them...... or, if the debates have been nice, they might not even need an explanation. they probably haven't had a clue that there was no maintainer for this long. and maybe make a post there for a counterpart.
as for help in choosing an ethical counterpart, omnirage is a nice little collection of omnivores that might not be the best choices... and of course, if they're a member of anti-vegan, it might be a good idea to ask me or cailin_t (or another vegan who is a member of that community to make sure they're not ( ... )

So I think for now, I will begin watching again, quietly, and after a while I will begin updating the community and eventually seek a second mod.
I will be looking for a vegan, as I am an omnivore, which is part of why I became a mod in the first place. Prior to that, there were only vegans, and we poor defenseless omnivores had no one to stand up for us!
I will be watching for a while though, so that I at least know who I wouldn't want :D
Thanks for the opinion and for your suggestions!
