Dear LiveJournal User,
LiveJournal has a semi-automated process for dealing with spam such as this. If you believe the entry is unsolicited advertising, you can request that the community maintainer delete the entry and mark it as spam, as described in http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=209.
Once this is done, it will be taken care of through LiveJournal's spam reporting process. The Abuse team does not directly handle reports of spam, as the spam reporting system is designed to gather aggregate data and actively adapt to handle spam. Handling a situation through the Abuse reporting form would prevent the spam reporting system from gathering data.

yeah, that's their stock answer.
i'm thinking they should have a "report spam" button on every entry that'll alert the mods to spam without having to resort to e-mailing them or going through their personal journals. then if the mods agree it's spam then they can report it to LJ normally.
i'm going to try to get the isitveg mod to give me moderatorship again. she tried last year, but it wasn't working for some reason.
My memory's shot. Is this the 3rd or 4th year in a row now? I know it was portlandpeace last year and then something like pb_arsebucket or something the year before that. Bleh.
off topic to this particular postadualataielOctober 15 2008, 00:53:32 UTC
but as you froze comments to my other post, this is how i am contacting you.
i would be delighted to delete my post, this drama is the last thing i feel like dealing with, but the post prior to mine is rather off topic too. the brownies one... perhaps is not completely off base, it just freaks me out a little. can we please have both posts deleted? thank you.

(for some reason LJ does that. freezing sub comments unintentionally.) i've unfrozen it now.
i'm going to wait a few hours and if the poster doesn't edit it to be friends-locked, then i will delete it.
