It's true- we missed them sorely.

And in response to the straight edge transformation that's apparently happening around you: it's happening to some extent in Homewood too. Actually, I'm not sure if it's even enough to be considered to any "extent" because my evidence is really only anecdotal. All I feel compelled to say is that there is a picture floating around livejournal of Bobby Lemmon passed out on a couch after a night of debauchery and it makes me a little uncomfortable.

Also, realism sucks but there's a reason its root word is 'real'.
Welcome back!

It does when it means you have to sacrifice your values for what is "actually" attainable or "realistic" in the "real world". I mean, don't get me wrong- I'm a just as much a realist as the next guy. I just wish I (or none of us, for that matter) didn't have to concede to what is inevitable (I didn't put it in quotes, cause it was just getting obnoxious). Take war and armies: the former is terrible but bound to happen, the latter sucks but needs to be assembled accordingly. Realism trumps idealism and we all prepare to fight. How does that not suck?

if it makes you feel any better, I've started eating meat again. No shit.

Buck up. You can't do it all, but you can do some. I, for example, am consentrating on cycling as a manifestation of anarchism. By the way, you should see my bike. So hot.

It's been a while.

Chris.

i don't know if that makes me feel better directly, so much as force me to come to grips with the individuality and alienation of my own choices. it was my choice to begin with, but then again, there is strength in numbers ( ... )
