I re-watched parts of The Reichenbach Fall last night. I also finished reading Swordspoint by Ellen Kushner (rather interesting) at the same time, so basically I'm an emotional trainwreck.
So, on the roof, Moriarty very nicely asks Sherlock to jump and die ("for me?" he asks, all pretty please), while John, at the grave, asks Sherlock not to be dead ("for me," he begs). It could be an accidental parallel, and not an intended one, but it's such a nice one anyway.
Also, I'm wondering which scene Andrew Scott was referring to in his interview when he was asked what Moriarty thought of John. Apparently Martin Freeman said that, as an actor playing John Watson, his role was to get out of the way when Sherlock and Moriarty were in the same room, but Andrew Scott said that Moriarty likely feels jealousy and envy, and maybe even some sort of begrudging respect for John Watson, and he had a chance to show that in a small way in this episode. I cannot really think of such occurrence, except maybe when Moriarty was "acting" the part of the actor, he said he knows John is a good man? Hmm. If a scene was cut, I would VERY MUCH like to get it on DVD.
I'm feeling rather unsettled, which only happens when I get so emotionally invested in a story. Usually I try to resolve it by scribbling down something, but I haven't been able to write anything down in a while, and I really won't have the time for it anymore. /facepalm
