And what sucks is the old slang vs the new slang... For example. A song by Scooter is called Jigga Jigga. Back in Nahm the word Jigga ment the same thing as Nigger. Not really something that you'd want to be blasting in the deep south. However today the word Jigga is a softer kinder word for Nigger. Saying things like What up Jigga is more acceptable to others.
I was watching the DEF Poet thing in MTV or whatever, and a guy brought up a good point he said that, the phrase "my nigga" has been turned into something extremely different, back in the slave days my nigga was used in reference to a slave. my whole though on this is that now teens have taken it and twisted it to make it sound like something friendly when in fact it is far from friendly. It can be thrown around by alot of people but when a white man in the city uses it in reference to the same friendly comment, the black man takes offense, and therefore its considered a racial thing when we say it. It boggles ones mind.
