Yaaaay! Looks awesome. I'm flattered that you not only read my unbelievably long tutorial, but actually tried it! I got so tired of mine after a few days that I decided next time, I would freeze half of it up front.

Next time I am going to get a bigger chicken at the market. I was bashful and went with a small one. While this one resulted in dinner for three.. with leftovers, I think the next one will result in a dinner party. Jewish penicillin for all.

The variations that I mentioned in my comment on your thread were inspired by some soup that Damboise (a.k.a. Eric Diamonds) made last year. That Mainard knows how to cook soup. You need to eat his chowder.

I have had his chowder, and I was sufficiently awed. Is he gonna be around during the holiday? I love that Mainard!

It WAS. While snow is a myth in this land, a numb nose likes soup. There is also the craving for darker beer. I can't tell you how good a thick chicken soup with matzo is when you have a crisp porter on the side.
