Dubai is certainly nice, it has its perks thats for sure. I am fluent in arabic(im not amazing) not that it helps, the amounts of dialects passing through this city are insane. The local dialect is too aggressive for what im used to, im more in tune with the levant than the gulf. Then throw in Egyptian and Iraqi(hardly any here though) and im totally screwed. HOWEVER, you can live without ever needing to speak the language, everyone speaks english and its predominantly made up of ex-patriots. In fact, the brits alone out number the locals. I spent a whole year and i've only ever spoken to a local person once or twice ( ... )

wow that sounds like such an amazing experience, thanks for the description! it definitely sounds like a different place and i imagine its difficult being in an area with a small art scene but man is it an impressive thing to say you've done. amaziiiiing. AH is there any surfing there?? hows that man-made island?? pretty posh?

also have fun learning to drive, it always surprises me when i meet people that cant haha, even my new yorker friends surprise me when theyre like NOPE no license/no car. i live in an unfortunate hippy cowboy town and have to drive 5 hours to get to any decent city like San Fran or Portland haha

Oh i doubt its as relaxed as mexico city! Or as dangerous, the good thing about dubai i can literally wear gold clothes in a poor district whilst ranting about how the money in my pockets is weighing me down and still not be robbed. Its insanely secure. I wrote a more detailed take on dubai above if you'd like the read!

Oh awesome! So glad you got on that. How is it?

it's nice to hear what's going on with ya. i'm a little sad 'cause i hoped to one day run into in london at least. but it's great things are working out job wise. retail's a bitch.

Man, i hope to be back in london eventually, or even move on to the USA so theres still a chance. ;)
Retail is a bitch and at a certain age, it just doesnt feel right. ON the upside, i loved it for meeting people, and especially girls. Fashion retail seemed to always attract cute arty girls.
