McKellen to star in Prisoner remake

Of course, there's only one TRUE New Number Two, and he's in my avatar.

Historical trivia: 3 July 2008 is the 145th anniversary of the third day of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Didn't there use to be a different #2 every episode? Am I merely betraying my ignorance of the factors informing your clever joke?

This actually sounds like it might be pretty good.

You're correct. Although, Leo McKern is one of the few Number Twos to last more than a single episode. (Apparently whatever or whoever operates the Village operates in the standard manner of an Evil Overlord. "You have failed me for the last time!" Thus, the New Number Two nearly every episode.)

However, in my not-so humble opinion, Leo McKern is the definitive Number Two, just like Sean Connery is the definitive James Bond.

Now, don't get me wrong, I will watch the remake when it comes out (and if I remember to record it), but I do have a bias for the original and the original cast. However, Leo McKern is dead, so he can't make a cameo apppearance.
