Automatic weapons (keeps firing as long as the trigger is held back) have been banned since 1934 and are staying that way. The '94 ban only applied to cosmetic features of current semi-automatic (one trigger pull, one shot) weapons, like pistol style-grips or folding stocks.
ok, sorry for the gun control comment, it's probably the part of politics i know least about. it doesn't mean it's not important, i just never really researched it. and so i was basing my comment to joel on something i had only heard someone else talking about. my appologies. although, it was just meant to be a funny lunchroom conversation. maybe you just had to be there.
