While I understand your thought process, you should remember that there are no really intelligent ways to burn yourself. Also, I happen to think that (a) filling your bowl to the brim with custard is intelligent (and practically the ONLY way to eat custard), and (b) staying in the moment enough to appreciate the joy of family and other good things in your life is also intelligent.
I think the burn may be affecting you more than you have let on. After all, we both know what really happened here. After you were injured all sense desserted you and you took the perpetrator into custardy.
